Veya ("Veya", "we", "us") makes a fitness and nutrition app. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. We built Veya to work for you, not to profit from your data: we do not sell your data and we do not show ads.

The short version.

We store the data you create so the app works and syncs across reinstalls. AI features send the photo or text you submit to our AI provider to produce a result, and we do not keep those images. You can export or delete your account and all of your data at any time from Settings, then Delete account. Questions: getveya@gmail.com.

Information we collect

How we use your information

We process this data to provide the service you ask for, to meet our legal obligations, and for our legitimate interest in keeping the app working and safe. We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell it.

Who we share it with (service providers)

We share only what each provider needs to do its job:

We do not sell your data to anyone, and we do not share it with data brokers or advertisers.

AI features

When you use an AI feature, the content you submit (a food photo, a machine photo, a short lift video frame, or text) is sent to our AI provider to generate the result and is then returned to you. We do not store those submitted images on our servers, and they are not used to identify you or to show ads. AI output is an estimate and can be wrong, so always sanity-check it.

Location

Location is used only while you have an active run, to track your route, distance and pace, including in the background through an ongoing notification so tracking continues with the screen off. Tracking stops when the run ends. We never track your location at any other time.

Steps

With your permission, Veya reads your daily step count from your device's built-in step counter to show your steps. We do not read other health records.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your data until you delete it. In the app, go to Settings, then Delete account, to permanently remove your account, your cloud data and the data on your device. Signing out also clears your data from that device; it is restored from the cloud when you sign back in. You can also request deletion by emailing getveya@gmail.com.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Most of this is built into the app: you can view and edit your profile and logs at any time, and delete everything from Settings. For anything else, contact getveya@gmail.com and we will respond. You will not be charged or treated differently for exercising these rights.

Security

Your data is stored in Google Firebase and is accessible only through your signed-in account. Connections are encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and keep it private.

International data transfers

Our providers may process and store data on servers outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards offered by those providers.

Children

Veya is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update the date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app.
